10th Assembly: Tinubu lauded over moves to save Akpabio/Barau, Abbas/Kalu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been lauded by the member-elect representing Yakuri/Abi Federal Constituency of Cross River state, Hon. Alex Egbonna for his mediation and appeals to governors, law makers-elect to deliver Akpabio/Barau, Abbas/Kalu in the 10th Assembly.

Hon.Alex made the assertion while addressing journalists shortly after Mr. president meeting with 10th assembly Members-elect at the presidential villa.

Change of Name

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the meeting reaffirmed elected members of the incoming 10th National Assembly that his administration remain firm on the choices of candidates for presiding officers’ position made by the leadership of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hon.Alex says the President has on Wednesday night met with Senators-elect and Members-elect of the APC at the Presidential Villa, with APC governors and other leaders of the party in attendance spoke firmly on the need to work for the victory of the APC’s candidates for the 10th National Assembly leadership.

Hon. Alex Egbonna further confirmed to panafricreport that “the President appealed/begged Senators-elect and Members-elect to work for the emergence of Akpabio, Abbas, Barau and Kalu respectively.

He quoted quoted President thus “the success of his administration largely depends on whether or not he gets it right with the leadership of the National Assembly.

The President is further quoted as urging them to see reasons with him, saying “the candidates were chosen for the stability of the nation.”

Hon Alex describes the president’s appeal to law makers and other leaders as a magic cane for unity of purpose, adding that from the look of things, is only Abass/Kalu would go to the floor to contest, while others may step down after the President’s appeal.
