The former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has fired back at the immediate past governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for threatening to slap me at the villa.

Reacting to the threat, Kwankwaso said, Ganduje is his ‘political boy’ and can’t dare to work his talk by slapping him, if he had met him when he earlier visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Villa.

Change of Name

CAPITAL POST earlier reported that Ganduje in an interview with State House correspondents accused Kwankwaso who is the political leader of the New Nigeria Political Party, NNPP of being the brain behind the demolition going on in Kano by the newly sworn-in governor.

Kwankwaso further claimed that Ganduje is confused and can’t look him in the face, while he dismissed the threat with a wave of hand.

Kwankwaso’s visit to President Tinubu in recent time has been a source of concern to Ganduje who are both sworn political enemies in Kano State.

Kwankwaso who spoke to BBC in Hausa said: “I heard that he (Ganduje) said he would have slapped me, but I’m here. He was just confused. These are all my boys politically. They can’t even look at me straight in the face if we meet.”

Kwankwaso also spoke on insinuations that he planned to work with Tinubu, saying, “We have discussed collaboration. However, a definitive decision is pending. After the inauguration of the National Assembly, we will determine the best course of action, I don’t have plan to defect from the NNPP.”

On demolition in Kano, Kwankwaso said the President was briefed and a mutual understanding was reached.
He stated, “Tinubu initiated the conversation, after which I provided a comprehensive explanation, to which Tinubu expressed surprise upon discovering that the information relayed to him was false. During our discussion, he (Tinubu) seemed astonished and was speechless at the information conveyed to him.

“We unequivocally prohibit any governor, irrespective of who they are, including Ganduje or Abba, from constructing on sites designated for mosques, schools or other similar purposes. We will inform them that it is unacceptable.”
