Ex-Abia governor mourns Dokpesi, describes death as shocking
The former governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji has described the death of Chief Raymond Anthony Dokpesi, Chairman Daar Communications as shocking.
In a statement he personally signed and sent to CAPITAL POST on Thursday, Orji said the demise of the communication czar will remain unforgettable for a long time to come because of his impact on the society.
Orji, who represents Abia Central Senatorial District and the Chairman of Senate Committee on Privation stated that Dokpesi in his lifetime worked hard in business and employed thousands of Nigerians.
He said: “The death of my dear friend, innovator, trailblazer communication expert, Chief, Dr Raymond Anthony Dokpesi is one shocker from the blues. Typical of what death could do in ending and snuffing out good dreams.
“The chairman of DAAR communication was an unforgettable and exceptional personality who squeezed water out of stone in many of his enterprises as a civil servant, public servant, engineer, fundraiser, motivator and innovator.
“He enhanced freedom of speech through his radios and TV, which raised the spirit of enterprise and employed thousands of Nigerians directly and indirectly. He gave Nigerians the needed alternative to straightjacketed public corporations that abhorred second opinions.
“He pushed the theory of the can-do spirit to the limits, reminding the world that Nigerians and Africa can rule the world.
“I urge his family to bear this bruise and forge ahead keeping all his dreams alive through a united front amid the support of like-minded people. May his soul rest in peace!”
