Celestial Church cleric, Omolaja Odunmbaku celebrates Tinubu, backs subsidy policy
Founder of Celestial Church of Christ, City of God, Akiode Lagos State and Chieftain of the Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku has congratulatated the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu for a successful election and inauguration.
At a dinner ceremony organised to celebrate the newly sworn in president on Tuesday night, the cleric expressed confidence in the ability of President Tinubu. He said he is elated that one of the best hands is given the opportunity to oversee the affairs of Nigeria.
“The Lord has done it and when you see that situation, there is nothing for you to rush back to Lagos for, that is why I stand behind to still continue to say, Lord we thank you.
“There will be money, there will be enough job and opportunities which everyone will gracefully embrace”, he added.
Reacting to the sudden removal of fuel subsidy by the President and the long queue in filing stations that followed, Cardinal Odunmbaku who is also referred to as Baba-Eto of Nigeria, assured Nigerians that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
He said, “After darkness is a glorious dawn. Whatever is broken can be repaired. There is a broken situation in Nigeria and somebody must just take a stand and put it right and that is what he is doing and he said fuel subsidy of gone and gone for good.
“You will see the goodies that is coming in and you will laugh. If I should be proud of anything, it should be Bola Ahmed Tinubu and nobody else.
“Tinubu will rule for eight years even more because they will still want him. If Nigeria constitution will be extended, he will continue to reign because every house will have the feeling of governance even to the grassroots”.
On his part, the Director General, Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS), Chief Obinna Nwaka said the dinner was not only to celebrate Tinubu’s Victory but to also honour Cardinal James Odunmbaku who has been a close ally to the new president for over two decades.
According to him, the Cardinal played a vital role in the area of mentorship, guidance and in ensuring the victory of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.
The CYMS team, led by the Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka also conferred an award of Excellence on Youth Development to the cleric for his contributions towards good governance, mentorship and support to the organisation.
Speaking further, Chief Obinna expressed optimism that Tinubu’s achievements in Lagos State as a two term governor will be replicated in the whole of Nigeria.
He commended the President for the removal of fuel subsidy and stressed the need for the availability of enough fuel so that Nigerians don’t suffer.
“Nigerians should endure and support this administration. Good governance is not pointing to one particular person but we also as a citizen, we have our own role to play to ensure that everything work well.
“Just a simple announcement, it has not been implemented officially but some states have already increased their pump price which is very wrong, that is to show that many Nigerians are not even patriotic especially people that are into this business.
“We are appealing to the people in the oil sector not to take actions that will make the masses suffer and at the end of the day people will start pointing accusing finger to people in leadership position”, he stressed.
