Plateau Health Agency DG visits Mangu IDPs, donates cash to cater for immediate needs

The Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency PLASCHEMA has taken immediate action to cushion the health needs of internally displaced persons which was a result of recent attacks in some communities of Mangu Local Government of the State.

The IDPs are mostly Children, women and the age.

Change of Name

Director General of the Agency Dr. Fabong Jemchang who led other Management teams visited the Internally Displaced Persons camp at COCIN LCC Rampiya and the Pilot Primary School Bungha Mangu.

According to him, the visit was to do an on-the-spot assessment of the demography, where they encountered mostly the elderly, children under 5 and orphaned children and to a large extent, pregnant mothers.

He noted that one of the cardinal mandates of PLASCHEMA is granting access to quality and affordable care for vulnerable persons.

The Agency led by Dr Fabong was taken around by Hon Elisha Gayus Dapus, who is the Chairman of Relief Materials, with the Youth Council Chairman of Mangu Stanley Dapip and other youth leaders.

The Agency also donated cash sum to cater for the immediate health needs of the IDPs and promised immediate commencement for the enrolments into the BHCPF and Equity plan on Monday 29th May 2023 to guarantee access to quality and affordable healthcare under the scheme.

PLASCHEMA also visited the Headquarters of the Mwaghavul Development Association MDA to commiserate with the entire Mwaghavul nation and was received by the MDA National President Sir Joseph Gwankat represented by the National Assistant Secretary Mr Iliya Putmang who commended immediate intervention and financial assistant of PLASCHEMA.

He disclosed that PLASCHEMA is one of the first agencies of government to have visited the internally displaced persons at the Various camps in Mangu.
