INEC releases names of candidates contesting Bayelsa governorship on different political parties
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Friday, published the personal particulars of candidates and their running mates, nominated by 17 political parties for the Bayelsa State Governorship election.
INEC announced this in a short statement issued on Friday evening, adding that the particulars were published in its State headquarters in Yenagoa, the state capital.
According to the Commission in the statement, the publication of the particulars of the candidates and their running mates was in accordance with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2022.
The further announced that election for the next governor of Bayelsa State will hold on November 11, 2023.
The statement INEC published on its official Twitter handle, reads:
“In accordance with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2022, the Commission today published the personal particulars of candidates and their running mates, nominated by 17 political parties for the Bayelsa State Governorship election, in our State headquarters, Yenagoa.
“The election will hold on 11th November 2023.”
