Buhari’s ex-power Minister arrested over N22 billion fraud
Former Minister of Power in President Muhammadu’s adminstration, Sale Mamman has been arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in connection with N22 billion fraud.
He was picked up by operatives of the EFCC in the early hours of Wednesday from his residence in Abuja.
He was Minister of power
from 2019 to 2021, and within two years in office, he defrauded the Ministry to the tune of N22 billion, a credible source said.
The anti-graft agency was said to have investigated the execution of power projects during his time as Minister and was indicted.
Mamman is accused of conspiring with staff of the ministry in charge of the accounts of the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power projects to divert N22 billion and share among themselves.
