Niger gov’t, private developer sign agreement to provide 2000 units of housing
The Niger State Government through the State Housing Corporation has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU), for the construction of 2,000 housing Units for low, income and middle income as well as business men in the state.
The Housing units is to be built in Tutungo area along Minna-Abuja express road through Private Public Partnership (PPP).
The 2,000 housing to be named Kore Raba Housing units is comprise of one bedroom, two bedroom detachment and three bedroom flats to be completed in the duration of two calendar years.
Signing the MOU in the Niger State Ministry of Land and Housing, the state Commissioner for land and housing Hon. Danladi Mahmud Liman Doko stated that the state government decided to partner with the private developer Engr. Kayode Adeleke “because of his expertise and financial capability in handling the projects.”
He said the government of Niger state is ready to partner with any private developer that will improve the housing dificiency in the state in the provision of affordable housing to the low income earners particularly the civil servants in the state.
In his remarks, the General Manager, Niger State Housing Corporation, Esv Ahmed Abdullahi disclosed that the project was aimed at providing affordable houses for the people of the state particularly the civil servant and members of the Public.
According to the General Manager, the arrangement for the projects was conceived for the past six, yeara, stressing that the Housing Corporation carried out an investigation about the capacity of the developer.
“The investigation has proven some level of commitment and financial capacity to deliver in 24 months.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the signing of the MOU, the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Tis Tuk Engineering Ltd Engr. Kayode Adeleke noted that the company took interest to embark on the project in Minna as a result of its strategic location.
