The Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC) has announced the date for the Global Children and Teenager’s Convocation programme.

The programme under the Ministry’s Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) is organised in conjunction with Fellowship of Christian Students, Young Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) and Christian Teachers Fellowship (CTF). It is scheduled to hold from the 11th to 14th May, 2023, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Change of Name

The General Suprintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church and Convener of GCK, Pastor William Kumuyi, will be ministering at the event tagged ‘Standing Tall As Rising Stars’ (STARS).

Speaking at a special world press conference on Friday, the DLBC State Overseer FCT, Pastor Elijah Adeniyi, said the non-denomination programme is targetted at raising young people especially teenagers and children in the fear of God and building a better future generation.

He said “Pastor Kumuyi has been passionate to ensure godly children and teenagers are raised at a tender age to imbibe righteousness in the fear of God as they grow and pursue their dreams and aspirations of what they want to become in future, which will impact national development.

“According to data, Nigeria is a ‘country of the young’ with almost half the entire 200 million strong population, 46 percent, currently under the age of 15, while for children under the age of 5 stands at nearly 31 million, and annually at least 7 million babies are born.

“This is a critical mass of Nigerians that can make our country stand out if we catch them young by inculcating in them spiritual, academic and moral values, hence the theme of the Global Children and Teenager’s Convocation, STARS – ‘ Stand Tall As Rising Stars’.

“The convener has organised youth programmes over the years and spanning over three decades within and outside Nigeria, and currently, he has made youth an integral part of GCK, which holds every month alongside the GCK, and it is called IMPACT Academy; this programme has transformed lives of young people across the world and the testimonies are heart-warming as the convener preaches and expose deep secrets of success, hard work, determination, fear of God, holiness and how to impact the world amidst daunting challenges” he stressed.

Also speaking the Deputy Chairman, FCT Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Isaac Komolafe, Chairman, Christian Teachers Fellowship, Pastor David Adams and the FCT Chairman, Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS), Pastor Chris Okafor, emphasized the importance of the programme in the lives of youngsters adding that leading them in the right path early will go a long way in curbing negative vices in our society.

They unanimously expressed confidence that all the children, teenagers and students who will attend the event, will experience positive change in their lives.

The minsters urged all stakeholders to give in their best in making sure that the programme is a success.
