Ex-President Jonathan describes late Yar’adua a selfless leader
Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has described the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua as a selfless leader Nigeria has ever had.
The former President recalled that Yar’adua died on 5th May, 2010.
CAPITAL POST recalled that the death of Yar’adua left the fate of the nation hanging before the intervention of the Nigeria Senate, when the then Senator Bala Mohammed moved a motion asking the upper legislative Chamber to invoke the doctrine of necessity.
The doctrine of necessity was upheld by the former Senate President, David Mark.
Jonathan who eulogised his former boss on his Twitter handle on Friday, said, the late leader was a man peace, justice and accountability.
He wrote: “On this day thirteen years ago, our nation lost a great and selfless leader President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. He was a man of peace, justice and accountability.
“We look back with appreciation to God for the gift his life and his impact in our nation.”
