BREAKING: Police arrests wanted Adamawa REC
Police on Tuesday arrested the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner in Adamawa State, Barrister Hudu-Yunusa Ari.
He was taken into custody for interrogation and prosecution at the Louis Edet House Force Headquarters of the Nigeria Police, Abuja.
The embattled Commissioner was declared wanted over alleged impropriety during the April 15 supplementary governorship poll in Adamawa State.
His arrest was confirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement he made available to journalists on Tuesday in Abuja.
Ari declared Senator Aishatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress, APC winner of the State governorship election contrary to provisions of guidelines and procedures of conduct of elections.
The misconduct made the electoral umpire to write the NPF asking it to investigate, and if found culpable, prosecute Yunusa-Ari over alleged electoral infractions.
