Niger Chief Judge slams Shariah Court Judge for detaining suspect without trial
The Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik has described the unprofessional conduct of an Upper Shariah Court Judge Abbas Mohammed of Kpakungu in Minna as Pharaoh.
Justice Halima stated that for a Shariah Court Judge to unjustly incarcerated a suspect without any trial calls for a serious concern describing the act of the Shariah Court Judge as that of Pharaoh.”
“Your conduct in keeping this suspect in detention for no offence against him is that of Pharaoh.
“Our name and integrity is in question because of people of your type. People have lost confidence in the judiciary.
“We are being insulted in town. The Judiciary is being called with all sorts of names because of the unprofessional conduct you exhibited” she stated
