Sokoto Federal Lawmaker, Al-Mustapha reassures constituents of effective representation
Member representing Wurno/Raba Federal Constituency of Sokoto State, Hon. Ibrahim Al-Mustapha has reassured his commitment to effective representation in the lower legislative Chamber.
Al-Mustapha who was declared winner after the supplementary elections dedicated his victory to Almighty Allah as the one that gives victory, saying, “infact, it was tough but God has given us victory”
Speaking with news men on Tuesday, Al-Mustapha said, “the February general election in my constituency was marred with so many irregularities including violence that the INEC Returning Officer could not announce the results which called for re-run”.
“There are people who thought that the only way to win an election is to cause havock, the simple fact is that my people, my constituents are wholly behind me till the last day of our victory”.
According to the Reps-elect, “when the battle became tough, I took definite position by committing everything into the hand of Almighty Allah and INEC who is the alpha and omega of the election.”
“In the supplementary election what we were told was 45 polling unit, later they add 8 polling unit which makes the total of 53. All these polling units are in Raba and other places, by the grace of God I started mobilizing my people and they are there for me, at last God gave us victory.”
Reacting to question as to his plans for his people, Honorable Al-Mustapha insisted that he has a lot of plans for his people.
“I will use the instrumentality of law to sponsor laws that will bring good governance to my people and Nigerians.”
“I will go closer to my people and have a round table discussion with my people and we will bring our needs to the table and see how to proffer solution to it”.
“My focus this time is to consentrate on human capital development which I have to start last year. Indeed in my constituency, I sponsor many students to North East University and other higher institutions of learning and I want to build on that better this time by the grace of God.
While answering question regarding his position in the race, Honorable Al-Mustapha said, “the speakership race is a right of every Honorable members of the House of Representatives, but one thing that is paramount is that party is supreme to any individual and as a loyalist of the party he is waiting for the party’s zoning arrangements before knowing the next line of action.”
