Plateau Senator-elect, Plang assures effective representation
The Senator-elect representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, Hon. Diket Plang has pledged not to betray his constituents, but will rather work hard to effectively represent the people as well as provide the dividends of democracy to the Senatorial zone, adding that most abandoned federal projects in the zone since 1999 will be pursued to their logical conclusions.
He cited abandoned Mangu, Bokkos and Wamba Federal Road as one of the key projects he will focus on to see it completed since there is budgetary provision.
Hon. Plang also a former lawmaker in Plateau State House of Assembly stated this on Tuesday in Jos while speaking with Journalists.
The Senator-elect said he has the requisite experience as a former legislator and top government official to function effectively in the green chamber and promised to hit the ground running toward the actualization of the mandate given to him.
“I am not a novice in legislative matters; I was a member of the State Assembly for four solid years, coupled with the fact that I equally served as a Commissioner and in various other capacities both at the state and federal levels,” I promise to give the people of Plateau Central quality representation.
“The people of Plateau Central deserve the best; what the people need is performance, not rhetoric and promises without action. We no longer want rhetoric and long stories. “No more long story; our people want action and performance, which I will not compromise.”
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their uprightness in ensuring that the vote of the people of Plateau Central counted despite the hitches experienced.
Plang added that the resolution of the people of the senatorial district to vote en masse for the All Progressives Congress in the election was quite appreciated and promised that the gesture would not be taken for granted.
The Senator-elect, therefore solicited the people’s cooperation adding that election is over and there is a need for teamwork and cooperation irrespective of political affiliations to move the district and the entire state forward.
“I am prepared for the Job, I am a grassroots politician and I know the challenges in my constituency I would bring succour to all citizens of Plateau Central Senatorial district, “he added.
