Plateau APC celebrates Hon. Plang over victory
The All Progressives Congress, APC Plateau State Chapter has congratulated its candidate, Hon. Diket Plang who was finally and rightfully declared winner of the Plateau Central Senatorial District after a week of suspense.
According to the results announced by the new Returning Officer, Dr Jima Lar at Pankshin, the Senatorial District headquarters on Saturday 15th April, Hon Diket Plang polled 131,129 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Yohanna Gotom of the PDP who scored 127,022 votes and Barr. Garba Pwul of the Labour Party polled 36, 510 votes.

Hon. Sylvanus Namang praised Plang over his maturity, patience and resilience while the standoff lasted.
According to APC Plang’s emergence as Distinguished Senator-elect for Plateau Central, Senatorial District is most well-deserved as he is a grassroot mobiliser whom he has great confidence in his capacity and abilities to deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituents.
Hon. Bature stated that as a former member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, former elected Local Government Chairman, and former Commissioner in Plateau state amongst many other positions of responsibilities he held in the state, Hon. Diket Plang, he believes is going to be a great asset to Plateau state in the National Assembly.
The APC Chairman is full of praise for INEC for its courage in doing the needful by concluding the electoral process of declaring the final results for the Senatorial District.
He also commended the APC family in the state for their patience despite all forms of provocation and propaganda by one of the opposition parties in the state in respect of the Plateau Central Senatorial District election results.
He also expressed gratitude to security agencies in the state who ensured the provision and security and maintenance of peace before, during and after the announcement of the results.
