Easter: Christians must embrace peaceful coexistence – DG CYMS, Chief Nwaka

Following the 2023 Easter celebration across the world in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Director General, Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS), Chief Obinna Nwaka has urged christian faithfuls to use the medium to seek for forgiveness of sins and embrace peaceful coexistence.

Nwaka who also is a member of the Parish Church Council (PCC) of Anglican Communion and an Achedeconry delegate made this known at the Christ Anglican church Nyanya on Saturday, in Abuja.

Speaking after the pre-Easter service, he said “This period is very important to us as Christians having fasted and fortify with the strength of the Lord. We should pray for stability of peace as some elements are seriously threatening the peaceful coexistence of our beloved country.

“We should pray for our leaders, for a smooth transition and most especially the successful inaguration of Tinubu and his Vice President-Elect, Sen Kashim Shettima to enable them hit the ground running. We thank God for a successful general election which took lots of our attention without much loss of lives, no record of crisis and destruction of properties as recorded in the past”.

According to him, God who sent his only begotten son to die for our sake, did it for the purpose of freedom so we can live. He said it is on that backdrop that individuals are safe and redeemed.

Also, during the service, the parish priest of Christ Church, Reverend Barrister Ubaka Obiefuna, reminded the congregation that their destiny doesn’t lie in anyone’s hands and that no christian should wish his fellow dead.

He added that a true christian or disciples must be willing to carry his or her cross just as Jesus did before he died leaving the word “it is finished” on the cross.
