He insisted that the 2023 governorship must emerge from Kogi Eastern, vowing that the Socio-cultural group would mobilise her people towards realizing that mission.

The leader urged aspirants in political parties contesting the 2023 Kogi governorship from the East to tune their minds that one of them would emerge, and that the zone would not accept deputy governorship.

He said: “The governoship election is a battle Kogi East must win and the zone will not play the second fiddle this time.

“All political parties should take notice and work towards emergence of their aspirants from Igalaland and let it be very clear that we have agenda and the agenda is the emergence of a governorship candidate from Kogi East”

According to him, there was cause to be disturbed in past seven years, but as law abiding citizens, the Eastern Senatorial District allowed ‘pebbles’ to be forced down their throats.

The group leader added that the governorship election would be transparent and the lyrics of music will change for anyone trying to manipulate the zone, revealing that all those contesting governorship are being watched.

Reacting to rumours that a former Minister of State contesting election may be tipped by one of the parties for the position of Deputy Governor, he clarified that the person in question will not downplay the interest of Kogi East.

He spoke with CAPITAL POST at the backdrop of some political parties insisting on retaining governorship in the Central Senatorial district.
