NCAA staff arrested over N2 billion fraud
Four staff of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA have been arrested over alleged fraud to the tune of N2 billion Duty Your Allowance, DTA.
They were arrested operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for investigation on illicit funds transaction in the course of discharging their duties.
The were said to have paid themselves and other officials in the agency in excess of statutory N2 million.
The affected staff who are of the accounts department of NCAA are
Director, Finance and Accounts, Bilkisu Adamu Sani; and Hart Benson Fimienye, Deputy General Manager, Hart Benson Fimienye, Treasury, Obene Jenbarimiema Turniel, Deputy General Manager, Management Accounts; and Nathaniel Terna Kaainjo, General Manager, Accounts and Stores.
An Abuja source hinted that Kaainjo was taken into EFCC custody on Thursday, March 16, while the others were arrested on Monday, March 20.
It was also gathered that the four officials are currently being grilled by a team of operatives at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters, Abuja.
