BREAKING: Kogi Assembly suspends members, LG Chairmen over alleged terrorism [See list]
Nine members of Kogi State House of Assembly have been suspended from the parliament over their alleged involvement in terrorism.
Also 7 Local Government Council Chairmen and three Vice have been suspended for alleged anti-party activities in the last governoship and State House of Assembly elections.
House members who were suspended are:
1. Daniya Rayin representing Bassa constituency (Kogi East)
2. Muktar Bajeh, Okehi constituency (Kogi Central)
3. Kilani Olumo, Ijumu constituency (Kogi West)
4. Moses Akande, Ogori-Magongo constituency (Kogi Central)
5. Lawi Ahmed, Okene one, Constituency (Kogi Central)
6. Atule Igbunu, Ibaji constituency (Kogi East)
7. Suleiman Attajachi Musa, Idah Constituency (Kogi East)
8. Aderonke Aro Yagba West Constituency (Kogi West)
9. Bello Hassan Abdullahi, Ajaokuta Constituency (Kogi Central).
Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello was said to have directed suspension in latter written to the Speaker of the State Assembly, Mathew Kolawole.
Meanwhile, the Local Government Council Chairmen who were suspended from office for anti-party activities are:
1. Chairman of Ogori-Magongo (Kogi Central)
2. Kabba-Bunu (Kogi West
3. Bassa (Kogi East)
The Vice Chairmen who were suspended on Thursday are Yagba West, Adavi, Ajaokuta, and Ibaji.
The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Bello in a letter to the parliament said the embattled LG leaders were involved in anti party.
Reading both letters at plenary, the Speaker Prince Mathew Kolawole said the correspondence from the Governor alleged that the lawmakers were involved in terrorist activities based on security report while the correspondence from the state APC Chairman alleged that the chairmen and some vice chairmen carried out anti-party activities in the just concluded elections.
