BREAKING: More Naira notes as banks get old notes deposited with CBN
Reliable sources in the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN said banks have been instructed to collect the old Naira notes they deposited in the apex bank.
With the development on Wednesday, the country would be awash with naira notes before the end of the week.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Labour Congress has directed workers to picket banks nationwide from next week following the endless naira scarcity and its attendant acute pain on citizens.
CAPITAL POST reports that the directive was issued by the new President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero to begin from next week.
The Union leadership gave the directive to their workers at a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja, following the earlier ultimatum to the bankers bank without compliance.
Last week, the Labour Union issued a one week ultimatum to the Central Bank and Commercial retailing banks across the country to make money available to Nigerians in their outlets.
The ultimatum expired without an improvement.
The NLC said it would direct workers to stay at home if the apex bank failed to make the naira notes available to Nigerians.
