Atiku congratulates Wike on appointment as PDP campaign chairman for Edo

The former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has congratulated the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike for his appointment as Chairman of campaign council for Edo gubernatorial election.

Atiku, who is the former Presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general election, was optimistic that with Nyesom Wike heading PDP’s campaign, victory would be secured for PDP.

He expressed confidence that the leadership of Wike, his vice, Governor Ahmadu Fintri of Adamawa State, and other members of the Campaign Council will translate to victory for Governor Godwin Obaseki in the election coming up in September.

He spoke through a post on his verified twitter handle on Saturday.

The Peoples Democratic Party had on Friday, appointed Governor Nyesom Wike and Governor Ahmadu Fintri as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the party’s National Campaign Council for Edo State Governorship Election.

The council is to work towards the victory of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, in the election coming up in September.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress has appointed Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo as leaders of APC campaign council for Edo State gubernatorial election.

APC’s governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will be slugging it out with PDP’s Godwin Obaseki on September 19 election.
