Bello appoints Justice Olusiyi new Chief Judge of Kogi State
Justice Henry Olusiyi has been appointed as the new Chief Judge of Kogi State following the death of Nasiru Ajanah last week by Governor Yahaya Bello.
In a statement issued and made available to the press on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Mohammed Onogwu in Lokoja, Bello has also approved the appointment of Justice Bayo Olowosegun as the President of the Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal.
Justice Ajanah died of COVID-19 at the isolation centre, Gwagwalada, Abuja and was buried at the COVID-19 section of Gudu cemetery.
However, Governor Yahaya Bello, while speaking during Ajana’s burial, dispelled the belief that the former Chief Judge died of coronavirus.
During the third-day of late Ajanah’s burial rites on Tuesday, Governor Yahaya Bello urged residents of the state not to attribute the death of Justice Ajanah to anything else, like the much taunted coronavirus pandemic.
According to the Governor, “Don’t give in to fear and evil of the issues of COVID-19; it is a disease that has been imported, propagated and forced on the people for no just cause.”
He, however, prayed that Allah would grant the deceased Aljanah Fridau, describing Ajana as a dedicated man and a lover of peace in Kogi state and beyond.
