#Election SITUATION ROOM# APC supporters reportedly chasing, denying opposition voters in Dekina in Kogi State
Supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC are reportedly chasing away supporters of other political parties in Emewe ward in Dekina Local Government Council in Kogi East.
The incident which was made known to CAPITAL POST on Saturday said, it happened in Achigili polling unit address No 0016 in Emewe Ward Dekina LGA Kogi State.
A supporter of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, said: “Groups of APC members are denying other party members to vote candidates of thier choice.’
The same outcry is also going on at Imane in Olamaboro Local Government Council as the Council Chairman is leading armed thugs from one polling unit to the other snatching ballot papers.
In a report made available to CAPITAL POST said: “Ballot snatching is seriously on going at imane.”
The report said: “Serious violence going on in Imane in Olamaboro LGA.
“The Chairman, Mr Friday (aka pexy) has armed thugs to go about snatching ballot boxes and are taking them to one, Mr Samuel Ideyi’s house to thumb print and manipulate Bivas machine.
“Also Mr Raymond Olobo Illah is right now buying votes now in Effachipu & Efufe polling units in Imane.
Meanwhile, in a statement on Saturday issued by the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State which was made available to CAPITAL POST, by the Kogi Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, commended security agents for showing synergy in election monitoring.
The statement said: “The Commissioner of Police in charge of Election Security, Kogi State Command: CP Yekini A. Ayoku leads other members of ICCES alongside the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Kogi State on a Joint Election Security Patrol across the State.
“The CP commended the Security Agencies for the noteworthy synergy shown to ensure a seamless Election process. He also commended the INEC Officials for their improved effort.
‘He further restated the Joint Security Forces’ commitment to ensure the process is concluded peacefully.”
