#Election SITUATION ROOM# INEC adhoc staff protests over delay payment in Lagos
Some ad hoc staff working for the Independent National Electoral Commission on Saturday protests over delay payment to enable move quickly to their places of assignment.
The protests followed the delay in the payment even as at 9.00am when electorate have started queueing at polling units some ad hoc staff were yet to show up with election materials particularly at the Amuwo-Odofin Nursery and Primary School, Mile 2, Lagos.
The angry staff revealed that they were supposed to be paid N15,000 before leaving the RAC, but they had yet to be paid and time was almost against them.
One of the ad hoc staff who identified himself as Matthew said, “We were told that we would get ₦15,000 before we leave here but they are yet to pay and are even threatening us.”
Meanwhile, voting has commenced at the three polling units inside the school.
