#Election SITUATION ROOM# Kano Electorate queue at midnight as APC battles to change narrative
Kano electorate queued at midnight till the early hours of Saturday to cast votes in some parts of the State.
The desperation to cast votes could be noticed as supporters of the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP came out in their numbers.
The supporters of NNPP slept in some polling units to demonstrate their readiness to cast votes against any political party contesting governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
Those who made themselves available at night are mostly youths who expressed delight in talking to reporters.
A voter who identified himself as Abdulhamid Bukar after displaying his voter card, said, “the youths are ready for action in Kano State.
Political Parties with strong presence in Kano contesting for governorship are, the ruling All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.
CAPITAL POST recalled that the NNPP of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso leadership garnered majority votes in the presidential and parliamentary elections conducted on February 25, 2023.
In Kano governorship election, Engineer Abba Kabir Kabir Yusuf is the anointed candidate of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the party who is contesting against the incumbent deputy governor of Kano State, (Dr) Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
As governing in Kano,the APC is battling ferociously to retain it’s seat in Kano amid the seemingly rejection, if what happened a fort night ago was anything to go by.
