2023 State Assembly Election: Police enforces restriction of vehicular movements in Kogi

Kogi State Police Command said, vehicular movement on roads, waterways and other forms of transportation from 12am to 6pm on the election days, Saturday 18th March, 2023 have been restricted.

The order which was issued by the
Kogi State Commissioner of Police in charge of Election Security, CP Yekini A. Ayoku was in compliance with the Inspector General of Police’s directive.

Change of Name

The restriction order excludes those on essential services such as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Officials, Electoral Observers, firefighters, ambulances and other emergency responders.

He said: “This order is aimed at ensuring safety of the electorate and to provide a conducive, safe and secure environment for the conduct of 2023 State Assembly Elections.”

The Commissioner of Police further reiterates the commitment and the preparedness of the Police and other sister security agencies in ensuring a peaceful and orderly conduct of the State House of Assembly Election in the state.
