Polls: Parties send strong message to INEC against repeat of sham election
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has been forewarned against a repeat of election that was characterized with anomalies occasioned by Bimodal Voter Accreditation System glitches and other unwholesome practices.
Political parties participating in the governorship and House of Assembly elections on Saturday handed down the warning to the electoral umpire against the backdrop of rejection of February 25, presidential and parliamentary polls that has ended up in Court.
Ahead of Saturday, March 18, polls, the INEC has started distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials across the country.
There are, however, some states that are not participating in governorship, save for House of Assembly elections.
The materials which have been lodged before now at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lagos, have been recollected by INEC and are being distributed across the nation preparatory for a seamless election.
The exercise, led by the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Lagos state, Mr Olusegun Agbaje and the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, was monitored by various stakeholders.
