Lagos governorship: LP’s Rhodes-Vivor gets endorsement
Few days to the governoship and House of Assembly elections across the country, a Chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Bode George has endorsed the Labour Party’s candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivor.
The endorsement alongside other group, consisting of Omo Eko Pataki, and the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Senator Kofoworola Akerele-Buknor and Mrs Onikepo Oshodi took place at a press conference on Monday.
The group while speaking on political developments in Lagos State decried threats to voters for allegedly refusing to vote a particular political party in the State.
Leader of the group Chief George described as unfortunate and anti-democratic threats against those willing to vote a candidate of their choice other than the incumbent.
He enjoined Lagosians to reject the ruling All Progressives Congress on
March 11 governorship election.
George said, “We have called you here today, on the auspices of the Omo Eko Pataki, a concerned vanguard of true born and bonafide Lagosians, to brief you on issues of salient national importance, as we head towards the final lap of the 2023 general elections.”
According to him, the International Community was aware of developments in the aftermath of February 25 presidential and Parliamentary elections even as they have raised concerns over the controversial results.
The PDP chieftain added that the ruling party is planning to provoke the peace-loving Lagosians by snatching the ballot box on Election Day.
