Polls: Tinubu defeats Atiku in Jigawa
The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared winner of Saturday’s election in Jigawa, North Eastern Nigeria.
He was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Collation Officer,
Professor Arma Ya’u Hamisu Bichi, on Monday in Dutse.
He said, Tinubu scored Tinubu scored 421,390 being highest against the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 386,587 votes.
The third runner up, he said, was Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) who garnered 98,234 votes, while Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) scored 1,889 votes.
Meanwhile, APC won 2 Senate seats, 8 House of Representatives and PDP won 1 Senate and NNPP won 1 House of Representatives.
