EFCC arrests El-Rufai’s aides over millions of new naira notes meant for vote-buying in Kaduna
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday night raided a White Castle hotel in Kaduna and seized millions of new naira notes.
Some officials and aides of Kaduna State government were arrested while trying to distribute funds for Saturday’s vote-buying and they have been taken into custody.
CAPITAL POST learnt that Kaduna State government and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, arranged the huge sums of money for mobilisation of voters in Saturday elections.
Operatives of the EFCC stormed the hotel which is being frequented by the APC governorship candidate, Senator Uba Sani at about 7.00pm and met the cash.
The operatives, this online learnt have been keeping surveillance on Kaduna politicians before they discovered on Friday night that funds have been moved to the White Castle Hotel by Kaduna State government and Senator no Uba Sani.
The source said: “The incident happened around 7pm.
“Currently some officials of the Kaduna state Government are in custody. An APC woman leader known as Maman Alhaji is in custody also.
“White Castle Hotel is frequented by Senator Uba Sani,the APC Governorship candidate and a Boy to El-Rufai.”
