Vote-buying: EFCC intercepts N32 4 million new banknotes in Lagos
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has intercepted the sum of N32,400,000 meant for vote buying and inducement few hours to the general election in Lagos.
The operation yielded results on Friday which is a day to the elections as the operatives have been keeping vigilance without some politicians knowing.
The operation was carried out by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Commission.
The suspect involved has been taken into custody for further questioning.
CAPITAL POST reports that the Chairman of the Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa has earlier enjoined operatives who were deployed for election monitoring duties to show courage and not give room for unscrupulous persons to undermine the integrity of the elections through financial inducement.
Details of the political party involved has not been revealed at the time of filing this report.
