INEC asked to redeploy ICT Staff out Plateau Jos for working with APC governorship candidate
The Atiku/ Mutfwang Youth Campaign Council in Plateau state has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to redeploy ICT staff of the Commission posted to Plateau state from Benue whom they said worked with the APC Gubernatorial Candiddate of the State when he was Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue.
Addressing journalists in Jos on Wednesday, the Director General of the Council, Hon. Hitler Joshua Pwajok expressed fears that having worked under the APC Gubernatorial Candidate while he was INEC Commissioner in Benue State and there are high possibilities that they will favour him.
He demanded that INEC exonerate itself by ensuring that the neutrality of the Commision is restored to repose confidence in the process, which he said will go a long way in restoring assurance that the Commision has the capacity to conduct a credible election in Plateau State and Nigeria.
“We call on independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately redeploy Engineer Umar Mamuud Muhammad and others who were hurriedly deployed to Plateau, to be immediately redeployed out of the State to redeem itself as a neutral and unbiased umpire”.
Pwajok said they are ready to monitor and examine the electoral process, deployment of sensitive and Non- sensitive materials and monitor the performance of all gadgets for forensic review.
He urged Nigerians to avoid engaging in acts capable of jeopardizing national security and derailing the Political process and appealed that they direct their grievances through Constitutional means.
