Kogi governorship primary: Bello’s Commissioner dare group over APC delegates list
Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo has dared a group, Kogi APC Mandate Group, for criticising the 2023 Kogi State APC governorship delegates list submitted to the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Kogi APC Mandate Group exists within the ruling APC and lodged a complaint to the Office of the National Chairman, that the list was compiled in the Kogi Government House and supervised by governor Yahaya Bello.
They said, it lacked transparency and was against the Electoral Act, hence, the National Chairman of APC should reject it
The group through their Solicitors threatened to seek redress in the Court, if the list wasn’t withdrawn.
Reacting to the development, Kingsley Fanwo described the group as disgruntled members seeking means of causing a problem for the party in the State.
He said, “they won’t succeed in their bad attempt.”
The Commissioner is also the APC Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council, and insisted that the list was authentic.
The Kogi’s governorship election will be held in November as Governor Yahaya Bello’s tenure ends on January 27, 2024. The political parties’ primaries will be held in April ahead of the polls.
Mr Fanwo claimed delegates elections were held across the state’s three Senatorial districts, and names of successful delegates were collected and sent to the party’s national leadership.
