2023: New ANAP poll puts Peter Obi on lead
Ahead of February 25 general election, a survey conducted by ANAP Foundation which was released on Wednesday showed that Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, is leading other presidential candidates..
The report is the third and final survey embarked upon by the Foundation which is a non-governmental organisation.
Of the registered voters polled, 20% said they propose to vote for Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, if the 2023 presidential election were to be conducted today.
Another 13% of the respondents proposed to vote for Bola Tinubu (the All Progressives Congress, APC) who emerged in second place. Abubakar Atiku (the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP) placed third with 10% and Rabiu Kwankwaso (the New Nigeria Peoples Party) was a distant fourth with only 3% of voters proposing to vote for him.
The first ANAP poll was conducted in September 2022; the second, December 2022; and the last one in February 2023. All the polls favoured Obi.
