PDP inaugurates PCC in Oyo, tells Makinde to go back to G-5

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has inaugurated its Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, ten days to the general election in Oyo State.

The party has excluded governor Seyi Makinde from the Committee, suggesting that he should go back to his G-5 gang headed by Rivers State governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike.

Change of Name

The Committee was inaugurated on Wednesday, according to a statement by the Director-General of the PCO and Governor of Sokoto state, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

Tambuwal said, PDP consulted widely before putting the Oyo-PCC together, while he urges the Committee members to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Presidential Candidate and other stakeholders by working for the success of the party at the polls.

Tambuwal named Senator Hosea Agboola, Chairman, Vice Chairman – Alh. Hazeem Gbolarunmi, Director – Hon. Moroof Akinwande, Deputy Director Media and Publicity – Hon. Femi Josiah.

Deputy Director Volunteer Groups – Mrs. Kemi Alabi, Deputy Director Finance – Rt. Hon. Adeolu Adeleke

Deputy Director Election Management – Hon. Nureni Adisa and Deputy Director Documentation /Reporting – Hon. Sumbo Owolabi among others.

Also part of the committee are deputy Director Field Operation – Hon. Aborode Majekodunmi, deputy Director Research and Strategy – Hon. Musah Abdulwasil.

Meanwhile, the G-5 had opposed the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku no Abubakar and vowed not to Campaign for him in their States.

The demanded for the removal of Iyorchia Ayu as National Chairman of PDP as a condition before they could work for Atiku.

The G-5 governors are Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

The DG Campaign said “it is therefore, the wish of our Presidential Candidate, H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON, and that of the entire PDP Family that your contribution to the overall success of the assignment of the Council will justify the confidence reposed in each of you by the Leadership of our Great Party.”
