2023: Buhari meets with Tinubu, details of discussion undisclosed

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met with the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Ahmed Bola Tinubu at his official residence of the Aso Rock presidential villa, Abuja.

Sources close to presidency said, Buhari’s meeting with Tinubu caused a 40-minute delay before he arrived at the Federal Executive Council meeting at the Council Chambers to preside over the meeting.

The FEC meeting was expected to commence at 10.00, but was delayed till 10.40 as members awaited Buhari’s arrival.
The reason for Tinubu’s visit was not disclosed.

Another source who spoke with our correspondent said Buhari’s delay was premised in his decision to monitor the outcome of the Supreme Court’s ruling against the federal government and the Central Bank of Nigeria on the latter’s new naira policy.

However, the hearing was adjourned to Wednesday, February 22.
