2023: Plateau Senator tells constituents to vote for visionary leaders
Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly and Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defence, Sen. Istifanus Gyang has advised his constituents to vote for developmental, transformational and visionary leaders with capacity to solve the nation’s numerous challenges.
Gyang made that call on Sunday in his village Fan, Barkin Ladi Local Government at a thanksgiving service to mark his 60th birthday.
The lawmaker sympathized and empathized with Nigerians over the difficult moment that the country is going through.
He said that he feels the pains of Nigerians, adding however, that the country was at a point where Nigerians would source for themselves leaders that could tackle the current challenges.
“We are looking forward to a free, fair and credible election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to source for quality leaders.
“It is a destiny moment for Nigeria and God has place it in our hands. It is an opportunity for us to take advantage and use our permanent voters card wisely and get catalytic leaders that are developmental and transformational.
“Do not vote cataclysmic leaders that will be severely destructive and would increase our woes,” he advised.
Gyang said that he is thankful to God for his awesome and unlimited blessings that took him from one step of grace to the other.
According to him, God use men at every point or step to take him into his destiny moment.
“I celebrate God, I celebrate men, I celebrate my constituents, I celebrate Plateau North, I celebrate Nigeria and I celebrate justice and equity. As long as I have breath in me, I will ensure that we live a just, humane and an egalitarian society that gives opportunity to all.
“Thank you to everyone that has prayed, that has been used by God to impact my life that made me to be impactful to my generation,” he added.
Former governor of Plateau, Sen. Jonah Jang congratulated Sen. Gyang whom he described as his son for turning 60 years.
Jang stated that it is good to always give thanks to God who is the giver of life.
“If the journey of life is all smooth we will not remember God.When God takes you to wilderness and brings you back, take it that God is preparing you for something greater,” he said.
The Gbong Gwom Jos, Jacob Gyang Buba added that in the journey of life there were crucibles, but that in every crucible, God is with always with with his people.
The President, Church Of Christ in Nation (COCIN), Rev. Dr Amos Mozo in his sermon, said that thanksgiving and gratitude attracts more blessings from God.
Mozo urged other believers to emulate Sen. Gyang whom he said, had been consistent in thanking God for his life.
