Thugs’ attack on first lady’s convoy: Adamawa Commissioner of Police blow hot
Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Kayode Akande has vowed to bring to book attackers of convoy of the first lady in the State, Lami Ahmadu Umar Fintiri.
Suspected political thugs attacked the first lady’s convoy in Muchalla community Mubi North LGA, a development the police boss described as unfortunate.
The Commissioner of Police in a statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, disclosed that the command has deployed operatives to trail and arrest the culprits.
The Police said, they have discovered gangsterism in the State and have deployed operatives from the Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT) and other Tactical squads to carryout raid against against them.
The Police said, sponsors of gangsters would be arrested too if found culpable.
“Those deployed are to checkmate and arrest the culprits, coordinate timely response to distress calls and to prevent political gangsterism in the state”. The statement said.
“The CP also directed Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations to lead all Divisional Police Officers, Operational Commanders and Area Commanders to ensure total domination of the public space and arrest trouble makers”. It added.
He re-emphasized the firm determination of the Command towards ensuring safety of lives and property, and appealed to the public particularly politicians to shun all forms of violence and key into the Command’s effort in sustaining peace.
