Lawan denies N-Power job slots allocation
Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan has denied media reports that Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has allocated N-Power job slots to him and other Senators.
In a press release by the Media Adviser to the Senate President, Ola Awoniyi on Saturday, he described the publication in the media as malicious which should be disregarded entirely.
The statement reads: “We hereby advise members of the public to totally disregard the fake and malicious publication in its entirety as regards the Senate President.
“It should be noted that the fairytale only blandly and obliquely claimed that some lawmakers printed out application forms from the portal of the scheme but failed to provide any evidence that this was to fill its speculated allocated slots.
Lawan insisted that his office has nothing to do with N-Power jobs which was advertised by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, noting that some elements were out for mischief against him.
He counselled journalists to clarify issues and always report facts which he said, was part of their ethics so as not to cause damaging reputation of public officials.
“Finally, we firmly restate that the story in reference is malicious and should be disregarded.”
