In their separate remarks at the occasion the heads of the security services noted that it was sad and worrisome that in spite of the fact that other candidates were duly invited to occasion they failed to attend what they described as a very serious and important process of the governorship contest in the state.

According to them the signing of the peace commitment which has been very the usual practice since 2014 in the state is a very critical aspect of the political campaigns and also the elections

They added that it is very disappointing and worrisome that the other governorship candidates failed to attend the occasion physically in order to committ themselves to the peaceful conduct of the elections in the state like Nentawe did.

Earlier the Director of the center Reverend Father Blaise Agwom revealed that the purpose of inviting the governorship candidates was for to them to pledge and agree to caution their followers to eschew violence, intimidation, hate speech and thuggery during and after their campaigns.

He added the center’s greatest interest is to ensure a transparent , orderly and peaceful exercise devoid of crisis and destruction of lives and property in the state.

The management of the centre and the heads of the security who expressed unhappiness with the non appearance of othe Governorship Candidates noted that Nentawe presence at occasion showed that he is the only one that is totally committed to ensuring that the elections are conducted peacefully in the state.

Nentawe was later given the opportunity to sign the peace commitment book amidst applause and commendations by dignitaries present at the occasion.

The other governorship candidates were then directed to report to the commissioner of police’ s office to sign the peace commitment book.
