Explosion rocks Shiroro dam, Niger State

Explosions have rocked Galadiman, Kogo area, close to Shiroro Dam in Niger State on Tuesday.

The cause of explosion was not known as at afternoon when it occurred, but a source said, it was multiple.

No casualty figure was established by the relevant authority as no one could access the affected area for fear of another explosion.

The explosion is coming after a blast that occurred in the same community in 2022.

Niger is one of the northern states most hit by insurgency.

Last Friday, terrorists killed Saleh Yakubu, the Councillor representing Allawa ward in the same Shiroro LGA.

Also, the Chairman of the council, Akilu Isyaku Kuta escaped an ambush by some outlaws on Sunday.
