Opposition spokesperson was attacked for breaching agreement – Imo governor
Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma claimed that the opposition spokesperson, Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo was attacked for breaching agreement with attackers.
He said Ugochinyere who is a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in next month’s election had a deal with gunmen that election will not be held in Biafraland, but went ahead to contest for the House of Representatives.
The breach of agreement Uzodinma said irked gunmen and they invaded his residence and set the opposition spokesperson’s vehicles ablaze and killed his uncle.
Ugochinyere is the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Ideato Federal Constituency in Imo State and the spokesman of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP).
Speaking with journalists, Uzodinma said he has evidence in a security report made available to him to the effect Ugochinyere’s breach of agreement was responsible for the attack against him.
He explained: “The politician whose house was attacked, I have already in my security report all the meetings he had with those who don’t want election according to them in Biafra land.
“I have evidence with security agencies where they met and the people are saying that he breached their agreement, that after agreeing with them that they will be no election in Biafra land, he is contesting an election. So go and ask the security agents”.
