Fear grips Plateau community as suspected bandits kidnap DPO

A Divisional Police Officer has been reportedly abducted by bandits in Pankshin Local Government Council of Plateau State.

CAPITAL POST learnt on Friday that fear gripped Pankshin in Plateau as the Police officer, popularly called SP Lareee, was kidnapped on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at WOKTORI Hotel in Pankshin.

The Police officer was said to have his duty post on Wednesday 11th January, 2023 and hardly had he settled before he was abducted.

The development was confirmed by a Police officer, saying when bandits stormed his hotel room, they shot him before he was kidnapped and taken away.

“The DPO was just posted to Pankshin about three days ago. He was staying in a hotel in Pankshin and was in that hotel when the gunmen came and shot him before taking him away. Since then, we have not seen him.” the source said.
