Kogi guber: Adeyemi intensifies lobby as Bello begs Buhari to intervene in APC primary election
Ahead of Kogi State primary election slated for March, 2023, Senator Smart Adeyemi representing Kogi West Senatorial district is daily deepening his lobby for governorship.
This is even as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Muhammad Musa Bello has pleaded with President Muhammadu Bihari to assist the lawmaker to be fielded the standard bearer in Kogi, saying Adeyemi was a man of diligence and impeccable character with a zest for selfless service.
Adeyemi who is the third timer in the 9th Senate is the Committee Chairman on the Federal Capital Territory and has been working closely with the Minister to deliver infrastructure in the territory.
The Minister took the lobby to President Muhammadu Buhari when he led Christians and Muslims leaders and FCT stakeholders to Aso Villa to felicitateon Christmas day.
FCT Minister told Buhari that Adeyemi is well experienced and has capabilities and acceptability to be governor of Kogi having been a Senator for three times.
Adeyemi who once defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was described by the Minister as highly patriotic and faithful in all his dealings with the party.
He lauded the President for allowing power to shift to the South in 2023 after his tenure, saying he should allow power to move from Kogi Central to the West.
According to the Minister, the Eastern Senatorial flank had produced three governors, while the Western Senatorial district has never produced in the last 32 years of the creation of Kogi State, adding that it would be fair enough to allow the Western district as the Central will be completing his two tenure of 8 years.
The Minister said, Adeyemi has been the braina behind infrastructural development in FCT as Chairman, Senate Committee on FCT.
In his remarks, Adeyemi commended Buhari for being a father to all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe and religion and stressed that his administration in the last seven years has made some drastic transformations in some areas of Nigeria’s national life.
The lawmaker lauded Buhari for the peaceful conduct of the APC presidential primary elections, which threw up Bola Tinubu and Shettima Kashim presidential candidate.
