Four dead as explosion rocks Ohinoyi of Ebiraland’s palace [Pictures]
Bomb explosion has hit the palace of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland in Okene, Kogi State on Thursday.
The incident CAPITAL POST gathered claimed four persons amid concerns of the whereabout of the monarch, Dr Ado Ibrahim.
Our correspondent learnt that the bomb exploded at about 9.00am on Thursday when the residents were already awake and are going about their businesses.
Another eyewitness account explained that it was a transformer explosion, but it could not be confirmed if there was a transformer close to Ohinoyi’s palace.
On the casualties, four persona have been confirmed dead. “Yes, four persons werein the explosion.”
However, the Kogi State Police Command and other relevant authorities have yet to issue statements on the incident as at the time of this report.
The explosion happened as President Muhammadu Buhari was billed to visit Kogi State on Thursday (today) and the state government has already declared a public holiday in the state as a result of the visitation.
Also, the palace building and other valuables were destroyed by the explosion.
