Amangwu-Arochukwu day celebration, 2022 to hold on Thursday

All is now set for the successful celebration of the Amangwu-Arochukwu Day 2022 on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the prestigious Amangwu Civic Hall Grounds, Amangwu, Arochukwu, Abia State, Nigeria, time; 9:00 am.

Amangwu is one of the prominent and famous towns/Villages in the Arochukwu kingdom of Arochukwu LGA, Abia State. Amangwu people are known for their hard work, resilience, patriotism, creativity and innovation, entrepreneurship, peace-building, productivity and change agents who believe in the force of oneness, brotherliness, and togetherness, and are united in purpose for the development and progress of the land of Amangwu and the people of Amangwu.

The Amangwu Day Celebration is an annual sociocultural, economic and development festival that brings Nde Amangwu and friends of Amangwu both at home and abroad together to celebrate Amangwu’s rich cultural heritage, inspire stakeholders’ actions towards resource mobilisation for development, discuss crucial matters regarding veritable ways and means to deepen the socio-economic, infrastructural and political development trajectory of Amangwu as a people and village.

In a statement which was sent to CAPITAL POST by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Ambassador Sunday Chibuzo Okereke on Monday, said the celebration was in response to the lofty mandate of advancing Amangwu’s Socio-Economic, Infrastructure and Cultural Development.

The Amangwu Development Union, Amangwu Youth Association and Nzuko Nde Iyom Amangwu will jointly commemorate the AMANGWU DAY CELEBRATIONS 2022 under the theme: Youthful and Useful: A United Family for Development and Progress.

The objective is to bring Umu-Amangwu, friends of Amangwu and all stakeholders together and give opportunities for contributions to Amangwu’s development. *The specific objectives are to:

1. Promote the socio-economic, infrastructure and cultural development of Amangwu;
2. Discuss the nature and the state of Amangwu from Nde Ikom, Iyom and youth perspectives for better planning and implementation;
3. Share the progress report on the activities of the relevant leadership and development organisations in Amangwu;
4. Discuss Amangwu youth development and empowerment
5. Perform the official commissioning of the newly completed Amangwu Roundabout;
6. Perform the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Amangwu Health Center Project;
7. Conduct Fundraising relaunch for the Completion of the Amangwu Civic Hall Project completion
8. Implement the distribution of Educational Support Materials to children and Scholarship awards to selected out-of-school children;
9. Showcase the spirit of love, oneness and togetherness of Nde Amangwu;
10. Promote a culture of peace and harmony in Amangwu.

This historic event will be chaired by Mazi Emmanuel Kani Ivi, UgwuAro. The Keynote speaker is Mazi Ernie Chibundu Onwumere, UgwuAro, Distinguished Royal Fathers of the Day, Mazi Kanu Okoro, UgwuAro (Arianzu Aro), Mazi Okereke Arukwe II, Eze Ogo Amangwu, the Father of Day is Mazi Mike Irogbenachi, UgwuAro, while the Mother of the Day is Mrs Patience Igwe, President General, Nzuko Iyom, Amangwu.

The occasion’s Chief Host is Mazi Kanu Iroegbu, President General, Amangwu Development Union, Host, Comr. Mrs Charity Otti, Secretary, Nzuko Iyom Amangwu, Co-Host, Comr Onyebuchi Chukwu, President General, Amangwu Youth Association, Arochukwu of Nigeria(AYAN).

The confirmed dignitaries and distinguished special guests of honours as at the time of this press release expected at the event are Mazi Dozie Udensi, Global President General, Nzuko Aro Worldwide, Distinguished Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa, Senator of the Federal Republic, Mazi Dr Alex Otti, Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Mazi Chikwe Udensi, UgwuAro, International Security Expert, Mazi Victor Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, UgwuAro, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, Deputy Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Mazi Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, UgwuAro.
