Islamic scholar, Gumi tells Nigerians not to vote president that will fight bandits
Ahead of general election in February, 2023, the controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Ahmad Gumi has called on Nigerians not to vote President that will fight bandits.
The Kaduna-based Islamic scholar made the call two months to the election, saying “bandits are our people and government should negotiate with them.”
Gumi in a sermon said the elected Nigerian leader should negotiate with terrorists while in office.
According to him, bandits should be given what they want so that they can give peace a chance.
Gumi said: “Don’t vote for those who will fight bandits. The fighters (bandits) are our people. So please vote for those who, after attaining power, will call and negotiate with our people (bandits) so as to give them what they want for peace to reign.”
