Two Police personnel killed in gun fire with thugs in Kogi

Kogi State Police Command on Wednesday said, it has lost two officers on patrol team in ambush attack by suspected armed thugs.on Agbaja road, Lokoja.

The Command explained that thugs
emerged from the bush and attacked the team when members of the team arrived for their routine patrol.

The Spokesperson for the Command, Williams Aya in a statement said, the gun duel with the armed thugs eventually led to the killing of two Officers.

“The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Akeem A. Yusuf, immediately deployed a team of tactical operatives to the area while trailing the thugs to apprehend and bring them to book.

“He further directs the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Investigation, to commence investigation into the incident.

“The Commissioner of Police called on the people of the area to assist the Police with credible information on the identity of the thugs to enable the Command to curtail their act of criminality.
