Gbajabiamila’s aide, Lamir donate first salary to Widows, Orphans, others in Jos

Special Assistant on Executive Relations to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Ibrahim Umar Lamir has donated his first salary to widows, orphans, and youths of his Dadin Kowa Community in Jos South Local Government of Plateau State.

Alhaji Lamir who is a Youth philanthropist in collaboration with Mai Akwala foundation and also All for Men and Women Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society organized free skills and acquisition program First phase for 400 beneficiaries mostly widows, orphans, and youth on cosmetology, shampoo, car wash, perfume, DSTV installation and catering others include cake, ice cream, and meat pie.

Change of Name

The Participants who attended the two weeks skills acquisition program consisted of both Christian and Muslim beneficiaries.

While Speaking after the training program held at Unity Comprehensive College Dadin Kowa Jos, said since he was appointed as an Aide to the House of Representatives, Speaker Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has been his desire to support the widows, Orphans, and the less privileged in Society.

“I had pledged in my heart to use my first salary in office to support the widows, orphans, and the less privilege, and today I am glad to have achieved my heart’s desire for the Dadin Kowa Community”

He urged the beneficiaries to make use of the skills acquired to better their leaving standard as the Government cannot provide jobs to all citizens.

Hon. Lamir promised that he will continue to collaborate with the founder Mai-Akwala Foundation Hon. Abubakar Kabiru Garba to support the less privileged in Dadin Kowa.

The Mai Agwa Dadin Kowa Community Alhaji Iliyasu Suleiman commended the effort of Hon. Lamir and Akwala’s foundation for alleviating the poverty challenges of the community is to have trained both Christian and Muslim Women and Youths in skill acquisition.

He described the Dadin Kowa Community as the most Peaceful Area in Plateau, saying despite the crisis in the State since 2001, but said they have stayed united in Peace as brothers and Sisters.

Our correspondent gathered that over 400 widows, orphans, youths, and the less privileged were also given financial assistance after the skill acquisition program continue with the business.
