2023: Jos North West community endorses APC candidate, Dr Nentawe
Various ethnic groups in Jos North West Constituency of Jos North Local Government of Plateau State have endorsed the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC Dr. Yilwatda Nentawe.
The ethnic groups consisting of Berom, Anaguta, Afizere, Irigwe, and Hausa amongst others made the endorsement during the candidate engagement with the citizens held at Lamorde Hotel, Jos.
Leader of the Irigwe community in Jos North West Engr. Peter Evi expressed happiness with Dr. Nentawe for the Citizen engagement, saying doing that has demonstrated that he is a good leader and can govern the State.
He hailed the focus and blueprint of Dr. Nentawe who he described as a good lecturer, saying the People of Irigwe will be mobilized and vote for him because he has visited them with a good agenda that will transform the state.
Also Speaking Hon. Rapp Pam from the Berom ethnic group said they will vote massively for the APC Candidate for development and to end the insecurity challenges in the State.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the governorship candidate to help the community deal with the access road challenge if elected the Governor of the State to come in 2023.
He also expressed trust in the governorship to fulfill the promise he made to eradicate poverty in the State.
A women Leader of the Afizere Community Dong, Jos North West Mrs. Agatha Arin described the relationship between the Nagas and Afizere people as historic and which cannot be broken and assured the APC candidate of Afizere Votes.
Comrade Bitrus Bako who spoke on behalf of the Youths of the Anaguta tribe noted that they have benefited from the APC administration having gotten key government positions and the upgrade of their traditional stool, they have no option but to vote for the APC candidate.
According to him, they prefer Dr. Nentawe to other contestants and would demonstrate this with their votes in the forthcoming elections in the state
Chief John Chukwu who spoke for the Igbo Community said they have decided to throw their weight behind the APC governorship candidate, saying they have unanimously endorsed Dr. Nentawe as the best governorship choice for Plateau come 2023.
The APC Governorship Candidate Dr. Nentawe in his earlier speech said he will focus on the Unity of the State and also end Insecurity challenges.
He pointed out that the only way out for any incoming governor is to invest and expand the economy of the state.
He revealed that with a debt burden of over one hundred and forty billion nairas as well as other liabilities it will be practically impossible to venture into infrastructural development in the state.
Nentawe stated that all the sugar-coated promises of building infrastructure by others Governorship candidates are mere gimmicks or lack of true knowledge of the socio-economic challenges facing the state.
He disclosed that his strategic economic template of action to address the challenges is to go for low-hanging fruit which is agricultural and mineral development of the state.
According to the Governorship candidate study conducted by experts shows that the state has three hundred water points that can be effectively developed and utilized for all-year-round farming at very minimal cost rather than constructing dams as falsely sold out by other candidates.
He maintained that gone are the days when farmers were relying on rain farming adding that to boost agriculture and create wealth among the teeming rural dwellers within the shortest time is to provide farmers with improved seedlings
Nentawe disclosed that if elected in his first year in office, a bill for the amendment of the plateau state mining act and the establishment of a state electricity regulatory agency to develop the Farin Raw wall, Pankshin, and kurta waterfalls to provide the required energy for the Industrial Revolution of the state.
On mineral development, Nentawe revealed that he intends to adopt the Ghanaian model where the emphasis will be placed on joint venture agreements with national and international partners.
Nentawe further disclosed that he will move the industrial park from Jos to Barkin ladi where the airport and Dry inland port are located which will be properly developed to serve as the industrial hub of the North East and North Central of the country.
Also, Various community and religious leaders, members of different political parties as well as traditional rulers in Jos South Local Government expressed confidence and trust in Nentawe’s ability to be the governor of the Plateau state.
The candidate was accompanied on citizens engagement by his wife Dr. Martina, and his running mate Hon. Pam Botmang, APC state chairman Hon. Rufus Bature and Professor Sabestine Maimako the Director General of the Campaign Council.
